Adoption saves children, most of whom have experienced neglect and/or abuse, from a lifetime in care.
As an independent specialist adoption service provider, we receive a fee from Local Authorities for every child in their care that we place with one of our adoptive families. This is approximately £10,000 less than “the real cost of finding an adoption placement” (Dr Julie Selwyn, 2009, Hadley Institute, University of Bristol) so we need to raise funds to cover this shortfall.
CCS Adoption provides all its families with lifelong support unlike local authority adoption services. This gives our families the best possible chance of coping with the challenges inherent in caring for children who have a wide range of complex needs.
Our families can come to us at any time to access services which will help them through these difficult times including:
Our charity has served the needs of vulnerable children for over 110 years and almost a quarter of the staff engaged in the preparation, assessment and support of our families are professional volunteers so you can be confident that your donations will not be wasted on unnecessary administration or management costs but will contribute directly to improving the lives of vulnerable children.
Without the hope of adoption, children who spend a year or more in care are far more likely to have poor life outcomes such as homelessness, unemployment, drug and alcohol abuse, and mental health issues.
Please help us give them a brighter future.
