Our Post-Adoption Service
Our post adoption service is provided by qualified adoption workers and counsellors, and we also have strong links with post adoption support groups. Our adopters describe our post adoption service as “invaluable and life-long”.
The Centre for Adoption Support and Education (based in Bristol) runs a programme of post adoption support activies.
We also provide:
- Information, support and counselling to all those involved in adoption through this Agency: adopted adults, adoptive families and birth relatives.
- We hold records of adoptive placements made through the Catholic Children’s Society (Diocese of Clifton).
- We have records of children who were cared for in the Nazareth Housesin Bristol and Cheltenham and who were placed with adoptive parents through the Catholic Children’s Society.
- Advice for adoptive families whos adopted children has decided to apply for their birth record.
How much do these services cost?
Our work is made possible by voluntary contributions, we ask that you make a donation if you are able. There may be a charge for some services and in addition, where birth, marriage or death certificates are purchased on your behalf in the course of tracing, you will be asked to reimburse the Agency when possible.
How long does the process take?
We try to provide a prompt response to enquiries. There may be some delay before you are offered an appointment depending on the volume of demand for services at the time.
