There are about 3000 children in England who are waiting for a new, forever family. 75% of these are under 5 years of age and over half are waiting to be adopted as part of a sibling group. They come from a variety of different ethnic and religious backgrounds and some may have disabilities or special needs. What they all have in common is that they have had unsettled lives and most have been taken into care.

Click here to view a lovely short film called Three Stories: One Family produced by BAAF that shows the reality of adoption from the point of view of the children.

Below are some example profiles of children, which represent the children who are waiting to be adopted. For information about current children waiting to be adopted, visit Adoption Link, where adopters and family-finders can share profiles directly, helping children find new parents who best meet their needs without delay.
