Job Title:                  Social Work Administrator

Salary:                       £20,965- £21,962 (Depending on Experience)  

Hours:                       Full time, Temporary (Minimum 12 months)

Reporting to:           Office Manager

Based in:                  Easton, Bristol

 We are seeking an administrator who will play a vital part in our success, and who can turn their hand to a wide variety of tasks in a very busy small organisation. This varied role will include administration associated with assessment of prospective adopters.

Recruitment Opportunity: Sessional Therapeutic Workers Needed

CCS Adoption launched it’s Therapeutic Services, delivered through The Centre for Adoption Support and Education in February 2017. Rated Ofsted Outstanding in July 2017, The Centre is now looking for Sessional Therapeutic Workers to join our expanding team.  The Centre offers a multidisciplinary therapy service led by a Consultant Child Clinical Psychologist (Andrew Lister) and an Adoption Support Therapist (Louisa Hebb). Our Specialist Adoption Support Services at The Centre provide clinical assessment and specialist therapeutic support services tailored to meet the needs of adoptive families, adopted young people and adopters.

Our therapeutic model is based on theory, research and practice models within the complex trauma and attachment perspective.  We integrate particular models including Theraplay® and Dan Hughes’ Dyadic Development Psychotherapy (DDP). Throughout every aspect of our work, we will place the child at the centre of our thinking and therapeutic model.  We wish to build and retain close and trusting relationships with parents and their network to achieve successful long-term therapeutic outcomes.

The young people we work with have often experienced significant early trauma, including neglect, exposure to domestic violence, drug and alcohol abuse, physical and sexual abuse.  We aim to work with adoptive families from all backgrounds, cultures and faiths.  A lot of our work is funded through the adoption support fund and Local Authority arrangements, although we can also accept private referrals.  Any adopted child or young person can access our service as long as they are 21 or under. 

We are looking for suitably experienced and qualified applicants to join our therapeutic team as sessional therapeutic workers.  We are particularly interested to hear from those with experience of working with adolescents/young adults and those trained in DDP, Theraplay, NVR, CBT and other methodologies endorsed by the Adoption Support Fund.  Applicants will need to be available to offer appointments outside of usual working hours to meet the needs of those we are working with.

It is essential that you have experience of working with trauma, loss and attachment, as well as experience of working with adopted and / or looked after children.   Experience of writing reports and working within deadlines is essential.  Experience of multi-agency working and having attended safeguarding training is desirable.  Applicants must be on a register accredited by their professional standards authority.

Pay is on an hourly rate depending on experience.  Successful candidates will be offered sessional hours that fit with the needs of the service.  As the service grows and develops it is hoped that other contract options will become available.
